If you’re craving an authentic Mexican dining experience in San Francisco, look no further than Santeria, nestled in the vibrant Castro district at 2251 Market St. This delightful restaurant invites you to indulge in the rich and flavorful world of Mexican cuisine, with a menu that promises to excite your palate and warm your soul.

The shimmering ambiance of Santeria perfectly complements its menu, designed to cater to both casual diners and those looking to celebrate special occasions. You'll find the place buzzing with laughter and chatter, making it an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and festive group gatherings. And don't just take my word for it; numerous visitors have praised the restaurant’s friendly service and welcoming atmosphere, making it one of the hidden gems of the city.

Start your meal with Whole Wheat Vegan Chicharrones served with a flavorful dipping sauce, or dive straight into the mouthwatering Papas Bravas paired with their spicy orange salsa. The medley of flavors will ignite your taste buds! If you’re in the mood for something more substantial, give the Huevos Rancheros or the delectable Chorizo Omelette a try during weekend brunch. The dishes, like the Breakfast Tacos stuffed with scrambled freerange eggs, are crafted using fresh ingredients that truly shine in each bite.

And if you have a sweet tooth, the traditional Tres Leches Trifle is a must-try. This rich, rum-spiced dessert layered with strawberries and fresh cream provides a delightful ending to your meal. Not to mention the Churros, perfectly dusted in cinnamon and sugar, served with a rich dulce de leche dipping sauce that is simply irresistible.

Santeria caters to all, offering a variety of drink specials, including $9 margaritas on Mondays, and a bottomless brunch that lets you mix and match your favorite cocktails. It's no wonder customers like Josefina Letelier rave about their celebratory experiences and the exceptional service, especially for larger parties, where staff go above and beyond.

To truly appreciate what Santeria has to offer, take advantage of their happy hour. For just $5, you can enjoy a range of beers in a vibrant setting, showcasing the restaurant as a perfect hangout spot among friends or to meet new ones. The lively atmosphere is infectious, and as Kimberly Ramirez joyfully shared, Taco Tuesdays are not to be missed!

In a word, whether you're a local or just visiting San Francisco, make Santeria your go-to destination for genuine Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist. With its superb food, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere, you’ll find yourself returning again and again.

Called in here for a happy hour beer ($5) and ended up eating here as well. Friendly staff with a good choice of beers and great food. We had the Papas Bravas, Wings, Enchiladas and Nachos. Way too much for 4 people but the food itself was great quality but quite spicy as well. Very good value for money, especiallythe Nachos for $9. Would definitely visit if lucky enough to visit SF again.

Such a wonderful bottomless brunch. Service was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Food was delicious (the BBQ nachos were an unexpected delight) and I love that you can mix and match a variety of drinks for their bottomless brunch.

I celebrated my birthday here. Hands down the best experience I have ever had. The service was super attentive, and super welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure I had the best celebration, even though we were a big 20(ish) group, and we exceeded our original booking. And the food… top notch!! Come for the bottomless mimosas, and stay for the guac and tacos a 100000% recommended!

Made it in time before happy hour ended! Got a $30 sangria pitcher (decent size to share between two people) and some appetizers. Taco Tuesday is all day on tuesdays so we ordered these after happy hour ended and they were AMAZING. Definitely recommend the empanadas(!!!) and churros.

Great happy hour! Especially if you come at the right times and order the right things, you can get some great food and drink without spending too much. The chips, orange salsa, puffy tacos, and some of the drinks are standouts.

If you find yourself wandering around the Castro in San Francisco, hit up Santeria—you won’t regret it. This cozy little spot is perfect for casual hangs. I met up with some buddies on a Monday evening, no reservations needed, and it was super chill. They’ve got a sweet deal on Mondays—$9 margaritas, and we tried a bunch of flavors. The prickly pear was good, but the mango totally blew my mind! Trust me, go for the mango. We kicked things off with chips and queso topped with chorizo. Didn’t grab any pics because, honestly, we were starving and dove right in. Everything tasted awesome. For the main course, I had the quesabirria tacos. Seriously, these tacos were off the charts. So juicy, packed with flavor—everything you’d want from a taco and then some. It wasn’t my first time here, and it definitely won’t be the last. If you’re in the area and want some great eats without the fuss, Santeria’s got you covered.

They were amazing and able to accommodate our large party! The strawberry margarita pitchers and fish tacos were delicious!
